SUNDAY, FIBRELLA CUP

Sunday, May 27, 2007, FIBRELLA CUP 2007, YONEX MANDALUYONG CITY

I was so excited yesterday because it was my first badminton tournament after awhile. I started playing badminton way back in 2003. I got so hooked with the sport that I decided to enroll in a training program but unfortunately I only went as far as 3 sessions. Anyways, when I was starting with Badminton I played 2 to 3 times a week. My first tournament was in PINOY BADMINTON.

Fast forward, when I received the email about FIBRELLA CUP it catched my interests although I stopped playing badminton for almost a year I decided to join. My reason was that I wanted to go back to playing badminton and I really wanted some motivation and joining a tournament would be a great one to start playing again plus the freebies were good enough to compensate for the P750 registration fee. I got a Fibrella automatic umbrella -actually the real reason whey i decided to join hahahahahaha- pegged at P500 at SM Department Stores and a tournament t-shirt. I entered the MEN'S DOUBLES with an officemate and friend SHERWIN REYES. We were levelled at E, the lowest level in the tournament. Sherwin and I decided to play every Friday since the levelling. We had a hard time thinking and doing strategies that we gonna implement during the competition. It was a tough road for us.

Sunday, May 27 after almost two months of waiting, the DAY has come. I woke up early today feeling so excited. I did a lot of streching and some exercise. I only have light meals for breakfast and lunch. By 1PM we were already in the competition area. It was a very well-planned event. Two weeks ago we already received our schedule and to my surprise we even started 10mins early on our first game. WOW! thats something TWO THUMBS UP TO ALL THE ORGANIZERS!

FIRST GAME JITTERS! As always, JITTERS have been my biggest enemy when joing Badminton Tournaments. I really felt the pressure on our first game. It went so fast. We lose the first set 10-21. Second set was a different story. We started to play well and even got ahead at one time 14-12. I knew we had a chance of winning the second set. Our opponents were kinda older than us. We started showing some emotions during the game just to relieve the tensions that were filling our nerves. 19-20 My serve. I served to the left of the receiver he lifted the ball and started moving in-front. Sherwin returned back and a little shorter. The opponent smashed the shuttlecock back to Sherwin and before we knew it GAME IS OVER. We lost our first game but we were happy because we knew we fought hard.

SECOND GAME. Our opponents this time were brothers. They also lost their first game so we thought we had a good chance knowing that we had a good second set in our first game but to our surprise we played our worst game ever. Even in our practice we didnt lost that big 7-21 and 6-21. I was like WTF! we were checked the whole game as if we were newbies and faced a veteran opponent. Well, we can only looked forward to the next game.

THIRD AND LAST GAME. Our opponents this time have never lost. They are 4-2 win/loss and they were leading our group. Since this was our last game we decided to let loose our canons and guess what we had a great game. WOW! If only we played the rest of our games like our last game our fate could have been better. The scores 15-21 and 12-21. We were ahead on the first set 6-1.

It was all in all a very good day though we lost all our three games but nothing can replace the fun, energy and experiences I gained during the competition. Surely, I will join again and will play harder next time. Congrats! to all the the winners and to my teammate SHERWIN cheers!

By the way, I think the main reason that we lost was because we didnt have a coach..SO ITS ALL YOUR FAULT COACH BINGGOY! hahahahahahahaha

At World's End at TRINOMA

Last Saturday, May 26, 2007 I had the chance to visit TRINOMA a newly opened Ayala mall. Like Greenbelt 3, TRINOMA is also earth-friendly mall. It has the largest garden inside a mall. It felt like you were in another county. It it very spacious. High ceiling. Well-thought of plans. The floors wow! amazing...There's also a theme every floor. TRINOMA also has an open amphi-theatre that can accommodate more than a thousand people...There are still a lot of stores that are not opened but most food chains - from fast food to fine dining - are already open.

I made a few shopping for clothes hehehe eventhough I will be jobless after May 31, 2007 hahaha hahaha hahaha. Anyways, since I saw that my favorite movie THE PIRATES OF THE CARIBBEAN - AT WORLD'S END was already showing and since TRINOMA's cinema promises to be a surprise I decided to watch a movie. I called my bestfriends' Zernan, Juna and Liza so that we can watch it. It was a spur of the moment thing though we already made plans of watching this movie. The last Pirates we also watched together at GATEWAY'S GLOBE PLATINUM CINEMA last year. I fell asleep during the "DEAD MAN'S CHEST" not because of the movie but because of the surreal environment of the movie house. It was my firsttime to watch a movie on a LAZY BOY....hahaha hahaha... I paid P300 just to sleep during a movie. Well, it was worth it.

Last Saturday's "AT WORLD'S END" took a different roadmap. TRINOMA'S cinema was superb. We catch POTC at CINEMA 7, TRINOMA's LARGEST THEATER. It was really huge. According to the teller it can seat 600++ people WOW! The design was superb. They have elavated chairs so that no one blocks no one. I had BROTHER'S BURGER mini BURGER and it tasted well.

"AT WORLD'S END" was a very entertaining movie. You wont be disappointed that I'll guarantee. The special effects were breathtaking especially the last "BATTLE" in the ocean. I'm hoping that there'll be 4th installment. The movie received a respectable B Rating - but I think it should be at least B+ - from the http://www.thechiefreport.com.

May 4 2007

May 4 will always be a special day for my family. On May 4, 1993 my dearly beloved mother, Eustaquia Pagara Jamero, died at the age of 66. It was the lowest day of my life.I still remembered until today the sadness that I felt when my nanay died.

May 3 1993, I attended the graduation party of Ate Lelay in Punta, Sta. Ana, Manila. It was supposed to a very happy occassion but I wasn't digging the whole event. Afte the party I went home to our rented apartment in Tondo. My mom and the rest of my brood were leaving in Bulacan during that time. In the Tondo apartment, I was with some of the helpers of my sister, Ate Tess. Ate Tess inherited the canteen that we used to have in South Harbor.

May 4 1993 between 4am and 5am. The helper, Allan, woke me up to say that his going to the canteen now. Since I went home at around 1am i was still in a bit of "half sleep and half awake" mode. I was a little surprise with that gesture because he never done that in the past. An eery thought came to me "When Allan comes back, Nanay is dead"...huh?I was really astounded by that thought. It was the same erry thought that came to me when my uncle died in 1993. I saw a fully loaded van. I didnt recognize any of the passengers but then I said to myself that Uncle Andres is dead. When I reached our canteen in South Harbor and while changing clothes Ate Tess informed me about Uncle Andres death and I told her I already knew. She asked me who told me and I only smiled. Flashback again...

May 2, 1993 was the last time I saw my mother alive and my Nanay was already bedridden for the longest time. I can sense that my mother really wanted to rest and I told her that she must not die when I was there because I knew that I can't accept it. I dont want to see my mother dying. Yes, Im a mama's boy and a proud one. I remember that my Nanay will still carry me even if my taller that her. She hugged me a lot and really made me feel that she loves me and that I'm very important to her. Late that day I kissed her for the last time because I needed to go back to Manila because I was attending a summer class during that time.....Forward again...

May 4 1993 Between 7am and 8am. I heard a knock at the door....My heart was beating faster now Im praying that It was not Allan. He knocks again and this time he calls me..I didn't breakdown yet althought I already knew that my premonition was correct and that my mom is dead. I opened the door and told Allan that I already knew. He was a surprised and told me that I must go to the canteen so that Ate Tess and I can go home at the same time. I told him I just needed to call Kuya Dante. Kuya Dante was a group mate in Bagong Himig...I went to the nearest store to call Kuya Dante. I was still holding back the tears. It was very painful and I knew that I had to let go. I started crying when I heard Kuya Dante's voice. For two minutes he only heard me crying. He kept on asking why Im crying and I told him Nanay is dead. I asked him to please inform my teachers in chemistry about my Nanay's death....Forward again

May 4, 2007 After almost 12 years we finally had our first lunch together in our ancestral house. All of my siblings and their children were there. We really had a great time yesterday. We didnt have much but the food were amazing. The house is nearing its completion and the contractor told me that everything will be done tomorrow...yehey! We went to my mom's grave to remember her death and to greet her advance Mother's day. We prayed and by 5pm Ate Ross and her kidz and myself were headed to manila while the other siblings went back to Bulacan...It was such a HAPPY DAY!

The winning proposed color...
